Our approach:
We utilize evidence-based treatments (EBTs) in our work with all of our clients. Examples of EBTs that we routinely provide are cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT) and acceptance and commitment therapy (ACT). Both of these approaches are demonstrated by research to be effective for both anxiety and mood disorders. We will work with you to create a trusting relationship in which your concerns may be explored in depth. Goals for treatment will be set during the first few sessions and focus will be on creating change that improves the quality of your life and relationships. Anxiety work may include exposure therapy. Family members may be involved in individual adult therapy when appropriate, but sometimes individuals will be referred for separate couple or family therapy. Sessions typically occur weekly to biweekly and treatment lasts from a few sessions to much longer, depending on the decisions you and your therapist make together about your needs. |
