ABOUT MRS. KIMBERLY MALEHORN
I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC) with a Master’s in Mental Health Counseling from Walden University. I received my Bachelor of Arts from Elon University in Middle Grades Education. I have held teacher licensure in Maryland for Special Education, specializing in Emotional Disturbance 6-Adult. As a special educator and therapist, I have extensive experience working with children, adolescents, and young adults with a wide range of diagnoses including anxiety, depression, OCD, trauma, ADHD, and autism spectrum disorder in both general education settings and at non-public level five schools. It has been my privilege to facilitate learning and healing with youth and their families by utilizing a combination of individual, family, and group therapy services. I have also focused on the unique population known as transition-aged youth as well as providing direct support to adults experiencing the distinct pressures of being the parent/guardian or caregiver of a youth with severe disabilities. Most recently I have completed training in SPACE (Supportive Parenting for Anxious Childhood Emotions) Treatment for Child Anxiety and enjoy supporting children by partnering with their parents. |
